Rapid Fire Review: Empire of Storms by Sarah J. Maas

Empire of Storms (Throne of Glass, #5)Empire of Storms by Sarah J. Maas
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Holy hell this series just gets better and better and the character development is brilliant. This installment will have you on the edge of your seat and tears will also be running down your face. And plenty of snarky fun dialogue too. I love Celaena (ok Aelin -- but she will always be Celaena to me) and have really enjoyed getting to know all of the secondary characters and the background to this fascinating world that Maas has created. And this is from a girl who previously hated any stories dealing with the Fae. Maas takes the genre and turns it on its heel and makes me want more and more. Ok heads up this is one naughty installment, almost everyone gets a little bit of detailed action. (Some of it might be a wee too much for some of the younger YA readers) And hello I have a sudden urge to find a Fae lover (Dont worry Tennant - you are still my first choice). Really enjoyed some of the characters from Celaena├Ęs past coming back and once again I so enjoy the dialogue between all the strong and feisty female characters. However, the ending is gasp worthy and killing me right now, as I have no idea when the next installment is coming out -- Maas give me more NOW!

Just some of my favs

“You know, you ladies can let us males do things every now and then.”

“You will find, Rolfe, that one does not deal with Celaena Sardothien. One survives her”

“Rowan’s always looking for an excuse to show off. Dramatic rescues give him purpose and fulfillment in his dull, immortal life.” There”

“The fear of loss . . . it can destroy you as much as the loss itself.”
