Note about my Reviews

Dear Authors: The reviews in this blog are only personal opinions. I have absolutely no background in literature, writing or reviewing. I am a Librarian (actually a Library Technician for those who care OR know the difference) with a love for a good story. The opinions in the reviews are ONLY my OPINIONS. I am not commenting on the writers ability since well -- I am not a writer and never will be. If you are the author of any of the books reviewed here, my opinion is just that and not a judgment against you!

Description; For seventeen-year-old Janie, getting sucked into other people's dreams is getting old. Especially the falling dreams, the naked-but-nobody-notices dreams, and the sex-crazed dreams. Janie's seen enough fantasy booty to last her a lifetime.
She can't tell anybody about what she does they'd never believe her, or worse, they'd think she's a freak. So Janie lives on the fringe, cursed with an ability she doesn't want and can’t control.
Then she falls into a gruesome nightmare, one that chills her to the bone. For the first time, Janie is more than a witness to someone else's twisted psyche. She is a participant

Mini Book Review: Delightfully unique quick read, that once I cracked the spine could not put down -- and I was sick. Loved the idea of going into peoples dreams and loved that Janie wasn't a love sick angsty teen. I am really looking forward to reading the rest of the trilogy. A realistic portrayal of teens in that they swear, have sex and drink. I was a teen once, I did that stuff, why do we want to deny that they do this, lets just help them keep safe while they do it. (Sorry off my high horse now - I'm sick and not at my best)  I won't lie, the  writing was a little choppy and not much in terms of character development, but I think it worked well for the story.  It's just a good light story - go get yourself a copy, now off to hopefully get the next book in the series from Kiera - she's gotta have it. This really would be a good one for reluctant teen readers.

  1. This is one of my FAVE YA trilogies. I loved how the sparse writing and short sentences added to the mood and tone and complemented Janie and her story so well.
    Glad you enjoyed it!

  2. This was such a great book, I talked our local library into getting the rest of the trilogy & they've been checked out since then!
